Active Shooter Safety

The US has the unfortunate distinction of being the world leader in mass shootings. According to the Wall Street Journal, the US accounted for thirty-one percent of global mass shooters between 1966 and 2012, while having less than five percent of the global population.

While you may have the good fortune to never have to confront the chaos and terror of an active shooter situation, we want to help you prepare, just in case.

Statistics such as those given above demonstrate that there is good reason to be prepared, at home, in the workplace, at sporting events, at church or anywhere else.

Why the Urban Survival Academy?

Our instructors are Special Forces trained experts. They have backgrounds that include the Navy SEALs, Force Recon, Snipers and more.

Preparing civilians to survive an active shooter situation, of course, is quite a bit different than training military or law enforcement personnel to do the same. Those latter professionals will concentrate on confronting and eliminating the threat. You, and your employees, if you’re having this training as part of your overall workplace safety program, will need to learn skills and techniques that will help you survive and minimize the shooter’s ability to find targets.

What You’ll Learn

Simply because someone enters your workplace with a gun doesn’t mean that you cannot take control of the situation.

You’ll learn:

  • Lockdown procedures
  • Safe techniques for sheltering in place
  • How to assess your overall level of readiness
  • The technology and other resources you can use to protect yourself and your workplace
  • How to reach out for assistance before, during and after an active shooter incident
  • Setting rally points
  • Rapid mass evacuation
  • Barricading and maintaining distance
  • Basic first aid for trauma
  • Scenario training
  • How to keep a cool head in a bad situation
  • Resistance and fighting back, if necessary

Our active shooter training will give civilians the tools and preparation they need to vastly increase their chances of coming out of such a situation alive.

You cannot control whether or not your facility will become the target for an active shooter, but you can make sure that you’re ready to react if that situation ever manifests. We hope that you never have to but, if you do, these skills will help.

Let our experts train you how to survive and help those around you to do the same.
