CIVILIAN-CLASSES

Orlando Prepper Classes

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be prepared.

Some people are interested in preparing for emergencies–sometimes called “prepping”–because they have concerns about weather events and other natural disasters that can lead to chaotic, dangerous situations.

Others foresee some “end of the world” situation and that’s their motivation.

Whatever your reasons are, it does make sense to be prepared and there’s no reason that you shouldn’t take the time to learn how to survive emergency situations and to care for the people you love.

Prepping has become a non-specific term over the years, so let us introduce our class offerings by first defining what prepping is.

What Prepping Is and What Orlando Prepper Classes Offer

Think that prepping is only for live-off-the-land, paranoid types?

It’s not. In fact, prepping is usually a family activity and the families that do it learn prepping techniques for very rational and level-headed reasons.

The survival community is based on a simple idea. Disaster can strike anywhere, any time. The urge to be ready is embedded deep in our DNA; survival instincts that have carried us through generations of disaster upon disaster, and allowed us to keep on going.

No one should feel that prepping doesn’t have value to them. It’s not ideology; it’s not fantasy: It’s simply about being ready for the worst situations that can, and often do, happen.

Reasons You Should Consider Prepper Classes

Whether you live in Orlando, another city or in a rural area, prepping makes good sense.

To figure out for yourself why it’s a good idea, run through the most likely disaster situations that could affect you and your family. In the survival community, you’ll hear these referred to as SHTF scenarios, meaning “Shit Hits the Fan” scenarios.

Depending upon where you live, you might be at risk of hurricanes, bad storms, tornadoes, floods, wildfires or other disasters.

If you’re worried about civil unrest, don’t think you’re being overly paranoid. Riots and other man-made disasters happen all the time and there is nothing odd about people who take measures to be ready to handle them.

In fact, not only do we train civilians to deal with civil unrest, we teach law-enforcement personnel and military personnel how to handle it, as well!

How We Teach

At the Urban Survival Academy, our instructors rely on their vast wealth of real-life experience and their Special Forces training to provide effective instruction.

We offer two courses for those interested in prepping: a three-day and seven-day option. The courses focus on a range of skills, including homesteading, self-defense and advance camp craft.

There is overlap within these classes–the most important skills often do overlap, in fact–and we take the time to delve deep into the material to ensure that you get the best possible training.

We work through the challenges involved with prepping from all angles, from making checklists and gathering supplies to what to do in various situations.

Even if you don’t become a devoted prepper or a survival enthusiast, our Orlando prepper classes will have value to you. They’re also a lot of fun and offer the sense of accomplishment that comes with taking on a challenge and learning practical skills.
