Urban survival presents a far different challenge than wilderness survival, but many of the same skills apply. Navigation, learning to locate and exploit safe resources, working effectively in a team when necessary and avoiding threats when you have to; there’s a lot involved if you want to stay alive in the urban environment.
Urban survival skills have the distinct advantage of being applicable right where most people live. Today, because most of us do live in an urban environment, knowing how to survive in a cityscape during a natural or other type of disaster is a vital skill.
Tackling the Most Likely Scenarios
If a hurricane hits tomorrow, you’ll probably be close to home or work. If there’s a fire, unrest or some other disaster, the same thing applies; you’ll likely be close to home.
Home probably means Orlando, Miami or another large city–or even a smaller one–and the skills you’ll need to ride out any of the disasters already named, or others, will not be the same skills that you’d use to survive in the wilderness.
Our instructors are experienced Special Forces veterans who certainly know how to stay alive in a hostile urban environment. Whether that means finding a safe place to take shelter and wait out a crisis or finding a way to get out of Dodge as soon as possible, they know how to survive, and they can teach you those same skills.
Are You Ready?
Our Urban Survival course is not boot camp, so don’t expect to get screamed at by a drill sergeant, to have to assemble a rifle blindfolded and all of that. This course is designed to provide a challenging and useful educational experience for civilians, but it certainly has a touch of adventure to it.
You’ll learn real skills, you’ll take on real challenges and, if something awful happens, you’ll be someone that people can rely upon to know what to do in a crisis that takes place in an urban environment.
